About

I am a PhD candidate in Applied Economics at the University of Minnesota, with research interests at the intersection of development economics, labor markets, education policy, and environmental shocks. My work combines causal inference, geospatial analysis, and field-based impact evaluations to examine pressing policy questions in low- and middle-income countries.

My training includes advanced coursework in econometrics, microeconomic theory, and impact evaluation, alongside applied research across Egypt, Morocco, Sudan, Yemen and Tanzania. I have co-designed large-scale impact evaluations and implemented field experiments. My teaching experience includes designing and delivering graduate-level courses on development economics, with a focus on making technical concepts accessible and policy-relevant.

I am always happy to talk with students looking to apply for PhD programs, if you feel you need advice or a second opinion please feel free to reach out.
